official memorial set
Mom's memorial will be Tuesday May 20th at 11am at my church job home, St. James' Church. St. It's located at 865 Madison between E. 71st and E. 72nd and all are welcome. We'll have a reception afterward at Jimmy's Corner, one of Mom's favorite favorite bars (this was one of her many wishes regarding the memorial). Leave it to Janet Ward to encourage early afternoon drinking on a Tuesday.

Sarah, Jennifer and Clancy,
I wish I could be there to give you all big hugs. I am so sad but for Janet I am glad she is no longer suffering. Being the younger of the 5 cousins I didn't grow up with Janet but later in life had opportunities to get to know this very talented women. Please know you are always welcome if you come to Oregon and need/want to stay with me and or Sharon.
Love Rena
wish i could join in the celebration, your mom was a "woman with a mission", she pursued life abundantly.
And Dalmore for all. We'll see you then. I'm going to come by on the early side this Saturday to give you big fat hug before I have to work. Much love.
Sarah, I wanted to wish you the very best tonight as you perform your orchestration at Juilliard. I know you're going to make your mother extremely proud. She will be with you, as will all the rest of us who love you and believe in you. All my love to our other "rockstar!"
Hope "Gone for Good" is staggering tonight - especially knowing that Ms. Ward is NOT gone for good. We'll be there, both on Saturday and on the 20th. And you KNOW we'll be at Jimmy's Corner afterwards. BIG love to you all.
The Roses will be there on the 20th and I hope to see you Saturday, as well.
Hugs,
Erma
Sarah,
I just heard the sad news about your mom. My most sincere condolences go out to you and your family. I will be there tomorrow at your apartment. All I can say for now is that I feel incredibly lucky to have gotten to know Janet. She was such an inspiration and positive source of energy...and unflinching in her support. I'll miss seeing her at my gigs but her spirit will continue to be with me every time I pick up my horn to play my music.
