housing and work

So Clancy's coming to town in the next week sometime - he and his family are driving from Wisconsin, so however long it takes them to drive here.  If there's anyone in the New York area who has room for him and his family or who's leaving town or something and would be able to offer up a home, please let us know.  Clancy will be coming with his wife Sarah and their two kids, Casper and Ida, who are 6 and 4.

Also, for those who don't know, Clancy is a mindblowingly talented carpenter, having built shelves and made stools into chairs, and done all kinds of amazing organizational work at Mom's apartment during his last visit.  Since we don't know how long these guys will need to stay in town, Clancy's mentioned that he'd like to find some carpentry work.  He has a few connections for jobs, but if any of you are in need of a carpenter, or know someone who might be, please let us know that as well.

Mom's in amazing spirits, really and truly.  She causes my chin to drop to the floor every time I see her.  She hasn't given up by any stretch.  In fact, the phrase she keeps using is "I'm so lucky."  It's just so Janet Ward to say something like that.  Thanks guys for all the big love.

I know Clancy is very skilled with hand tools, and pardon if this seems like a stupid question, but is he experienced with power tools? My friends David and Ron run a Scenic Design Shop in LIC where I often work. That said it's been very slow, but there is no telling what might happen in the future. They often get last minute stuff and need to put together a crew very quickly. If you think this might fit with Clancy's work experience, let me know and give me some sort of contact information for him that I can pass along.

As Steven reminded me, we a lot of carpentry work that needs to be done if it turns out that Clancy ends up staying for a while and wants to come up to Catskill for a bit. There are a couple of sets of stairs (one of them a big circular staircase) that have to be built soon, enough of the ladder already.

Thinking so much about all of you every day. So close to home for me in my past life - I truly can empathize. Our home, tho not very close, is open to ANY one that can use it. Please kiss Janet for me. Love and prayers for all of you.

See you tomorrow Janet! Love you tons and tons and tons... Think I have a place for Clancy and the gang with they arrive. The firm has an apartment and I've put wheels in motion on trying to secure that for them. Highly likely. Also, have solid lead on a couple of odd jobs for him with the head of my firm at his home in NYC... Love, love and more love...to you all.

I saw the improvements Clancy made for Janet. GREAT! I'd love to have him over here for a few small projects of the same kind.

I am so happy that I saw you last night - our lap around the floor - you were a speed racer! My heart is filled with HOPE!!! Sarah, Clancy & Jennifer - as your mom says "YOU ROCK"! You truly are an inspiration to us all with the amount of strength you exude! You all truly are your mother's children!
Just an FYI - I have spoken with a friend of mine who spoke with a friend of his (Rob Riley) and he has some constuction work for Clancy when he arrives in NYC (I gave him Clancy's home phone as well as Sarah's cell phone.
My love to you all...xxx
