she's there

After a very sweet and gentle ambulance transfer, and heartfelt goodbyes from all the nurses and doctors on the 14th floor, she's at Calvary Hospital in Lutheran Medical Center, in Brooklyn. She's in great spirits, and very happy to be there. Let's give her a break from visitors for a few days while she settles in. Thanks to all for your good wishes--and especially to Ben, who helped us figure out the many twists and turns of today. Love.

glad to hear tranfer went good. blessings and rest the next couple of days. is it possible to get an address if someone overseas wants to send something to lift spirits? talked to mom yesterday and she sends her love and prayers. unfortunately she doesn't have a computer. keep your strength up-remember to eat, sleep, and drink water regularly and take a shower everyday- it's more important than you know. love and big hugs from melissa bug

My dear Janet - I am so glad that you were able to get settled in to your new surroundings. This is a quick note from Florence to let you know I am thinking of you as always and sending more love. Take care of yourself, and I will try to talk to soon (when I can get to a phone at the right time). Big hugs, Katrini

Letters, notes, cards, photos, postcards...keep sending them to her. She said to me the other day how fun it was to have folks send in 'the written word' and loves it. I read several to her during my visit. It was not the first time she'd had them read to her and she laughed out loud at the memories, appreciated the well wishes and just plain old loved it. I think we can mail directly to the hospital...and of course to her apartment as the mail is still being picked up and taken to her... She's in such a state of peace that it was great to see. Sarah, Jennifer and Clancy continue to amaze me and Janet remains, forever, my hero.
